The first thing you need to know is that Math Composer is meant for math teachers and/or instructors. And the second thing you need to know about Math Composer is that it is a tool you can use to create a variety of math documents, such as math tests, math worksheets, math exams, and so on. The application covers arithmetic, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, physics and chemistry.

The minimum system requirements for running Math Composer are: Pentium 350MHz processor or better, 128MB of RAM memory, 20MB of free disk space, monitor capable of 800 x 600 resolution, Windows operating system (98, XP, Vista, or 7). After looking at these requirements, it’s safe to say that any modern PC can easily meet these system requirements. It must be mentioned here that Mac OS X is not supported and there are no plans to add support for this operating system.

The project you’re working on takes up the main part of the application’s interface; you can also find a File Menu and a toolbar with buttons for various functions the application has to offer. This simple layout makes it very easy to get accustomed to the Math Composer interface.

When you launch the application you are presented with a “Welcome to Math Composer” prompt that allows you to load some sample projects. You are well advised to do so – it will help you see what you can do with this application. Speaking about that, here’s a quick look at Math Composer’s main features: create various diagrams or figures using snap-together elements, edit quotations and text with the full-featured test and equation editor, create any style of coordinate grid, graph any equation you want, print out documents, and more. You have 30 days to uncover all the features and play with all the functionality Math Composer has to offer.

Create diagrams, edit text, create grids, edit equations – these functions and more are put at your disposal by Math Composer so you can create math documents.

Pros

The minimum requirements for running Math Composer are quite low; installing Math Composer will take little time and effort. There are some samples you can load. The interface is very easy to use. With Math Composer you can create diagrams and figures, edit text and equations, create grids and graphs, and more.

Cons

30-day trial, watermark on printed and exported documents, nag screen.
